My husband likes the name Randy. I, for some reason, think of a red head Southern boy when I hear or say it. What do you think?

If he ever comes to the UK he will be a laughing stock - it means "wanting sex" over here.

My older brother's name is Randy, as a matter of fact it's Randy Joe. No I don't think of a southern red headed boy; my brother has dirty blonde or light ash hair and we were born in Wisconsin. He also met a girl named Randi. I think it was in the sixth grade.

I'm not keen on it, here in the UK the word RANDY is used to describe someone who is feeling sex-crazed or wanting sex! "I'm feeling randy tonight" ect. But If its ok in the town where you come from and you like it then go for it!

Randy is cute for a child but not for a grown man maybe Randall or something of that nature would be more suitable. Randy is more of a nickname it won't look that great on a resume in the future,BUT if you like it use it, but use a strong middle name to anchor it all together. Randy Pandy, sorry I could not resist! Good luck

well it all depends on the person he turns out to be
then you'll think of him when you hear/think of the name Randy
personally i don't really like it
i like unique interesting names or something that sounds nice
or maybe has a good meaning behind it
discuss different names with your husband and chose the best one you both like
good luck

I also think of a redneck from the south. It's not really that formal. I've never known a doctor, lawyer or CEO named Randy.

My uncles name is Randall and for short we call him (Uncle) Randy. I like it, but you need to like it as well since you will be saying it and probably yelling it for a long long time :o) Good luck!!

I agree with you. Why not name him Randall, and you can call him Randy for short?
