Yes it is a mental hospital! Because I had a patient or 2 in my connection at one point. And I have been a patient myself...cool question for thought.

Just think, would you stand up on the underground and ask a question to everyone there, and then believe what anyone told you?
It's a big community where you have to take everything with a pinch of salt, and not be gullable. Coz there's always nut cases out there, take me for example ...

Yes thats a good point cause to tell you the truth besides people that post answers with links to back up there answers all answers posted on Yahoo answers are opinions and should be treated as such.
it be like a doctor telling you this when you ask that "doctor my head hurts what is it" "its Brittney Spears legal troubles you feel for her since shes loseing her kids that why your head hurts" now do i just believe him because hes a docotr or do i ask him to back that up cause honeslty i could care less about Brittney spears so i know that aint why my head hurts.

that doesn't make any sense... if the patients are asking questions to their doctors or nurses, then another patient is asking questions to the other patients who are doctors or nurses....

sometimes, different categories represent different types of mental breakdowns people have and people with various aliases have multiple personality disorders. When the names are deleted by yahoo answers staff that's kinda like they euthanized the patient.

Well yahoo answers is for people to find solutions to their problems, and no one is making you stay if you don't like it.
I do agree though that serious medical needs Doctor attention not yahoo answers.
