oK think about it. As activity increases, meaning you get off your chair and run around, respiration (speed that you breathe)will increase (speed up) or decrease (slow down) or stay constant.
Well, i'll tell you this... i have been sitting here awhile, so all the activity it would take for me would be to get up and walk downstairs to switch the laundry and i might start breathing heavy! The answer is A. It would increase.
I didn't want to just answer it for you, I wanted to explain it, too.

Umair answer is correct but i wanted to add few things ... cell respiration is divided into two steps, the first one called glycosylation which does not involve oxygen, occurs in the cytoplasm and yields a small amount of ATP, the second one called Kreb's cycle which does involve oxygen, occurs in the mitochondria and yields a huge amount of ATP. if oxygen is not present you can still generate ATP from glycosylation, during this process, a glucose molecule will give 2 pyruvates molecules and release hydrogen atoms which will be carried by niacin. Pyruvate would go into Kreb's cycle if oxygen is present, but if its absent the hydrogen atoms will be sent back to pyruvate which will become then lactic acid. The accumulation of lactic acid in muscles is believed to be a reason for muscle fatigue which forces you to stop the physical activity eventually, and after you stop the physical activity you will notice that you will continue breathing heavily for the next minute or so, this happens because all the lactic acid that accumulated will be transformed back to pyruvate now that oxygen is available again, which will then goes into Kreb's cycle and yields alot of ATP.

A.) Increases
Why? Remember respiration is:
- the process of bringing oxygen to the body cells to burn the food of and harvest its energy
- the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the lungs
When physical activity increases, your body demands for more oxygen, since you burn more and harvest more than your normal rates. Therefore the process of bringing oxygen to the cells increases, and the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the lungs also increases.
