You can see the profiles of admitted students to all UC campuses for Fall 2007 (detailed breakdown of GPA, SAT, ACT, SAT II, and other statistics) at: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/ITU.pdf starting on page 37.

Take some community college courses over the summer after your junior year (a-g subject areas that are UC-transferable) to help boost your GPA (they are weighted). Study for your SAT and/or ACT tests and the two Subject Tests.

I think you have a fair chance at UC Irvine; UCLA is more competitive and your GPA may not quite be high enough, but it does all depend on your SAT outcomes. A 1700 would not get you in to UCLA, and probably not into UC Irvine, but there is no guarantee that your SAT score would be similar to your PSAT score.

i think your chances are pretty good. you have the grades (i'm assuming 3.8 unweighted) and the class ranking. however, while you have extra curriculars, do you hold any leadership positions?
what's your sat score?

i'm sure you can get into UCI w/ no problem.
i'm pretty sure you have a chance at UCLA too, but since you didn't provide any other info like leadership/SATs, it's hard to tell..

I think you're getting into both.

And I think you're gettting a scholarship to UCI.

But don't you really wanna go to USC?
