Pirates or Ninjas && why??

This is a biGG arguement between me and my mates and you guys are awesome thanks i wont tell you what i'm for till the end!

pirates, they're plain awesome and cool, pirates are funny and can be serious if they want to, pirtates travel across the seas, from one island (or country) to another, they can use every and any weapon, be it a dagger, a pistol or gun, a sword or anything just anything, bazookas and cannons and everything.....

I don't like ninjas, I know they're awesome in their way and they're unique, but they don't catch my attention, they're more into their culture and customs and traditions, they're clung to their history and their grand grandfathers, they use particular weapons (those ninja special weapons) and you know there's no adventure and excitement, they don't go from here to there and I think they're serious most of the time, they aren't cool : (

Historically, Pirates.

Pirates were real. Ninjas, despite everyone saying they continue or whatnot, were not as widespread with secret clans and ancient secrets. Let's be fair, the Ninja is an assassin, pure and simple, using weapons on hand. There were no Shinobi schools in Feudal Japan, no Ninja Magic, simply assassins who were paid for jobs that were considered too 'menial' for both soldiers and samurai.

Pirates were little better, but they were among the better organized sailors of their day, usually had more battle experience, were one of the first equal opportunity careers available, and were, for a time, the masters of their craft.

Now for fiction:

Pirates represent the more adventurous iconic characters, the darkest villains, and the most notable in literature and fiction. Case in point: Name me (without referring to anime) one Ninja villain known to the broad audience? Now, name me one Pirate villain, and Captain Hook doesn't count.

Simply put, Pirates are better characters in most mediums, while Ninjas rule in Anime and 1980s movies.


Now...what about Cowboys vs. Samurais?

pirates are kinda like ninja ... dirty decieving fighters that will do anything to win a fight .... but i'll say ninjas because most pirates are brutes that learned to swing a sword by themselves .... ninjas are trained in secret arts and lethal deception .... on top of that their bodies are conditioned to an almost maximum limit .... they can continue a fight even if a limb was broken and severed off ...

on top of that their usual opponents are the samurai (the finest swordsmen in human history) ... and if they can fight on a par with them ... then im sorry but hungover pirates dont stand a chance .... they will be dead before they can say "yarr"

oh and ninjas start combat training the second they can walk from birth

Ninja. I've always like the asian culture and reading about the ninjas and samaurais and such... So silent, skilled, and graceful....

Pirates are like "WOO look at me, I'm a pirate, I like to shoot Big balls out of a canon! *hic* "let's go shiver some timbers!!" " Oh Arggg.. My (peg) leg got stuck in that hole on the deck again!!!"

When not pitted against ninjas, pirates are pretty cool too, they just can't win against ninjas....

Ninjas because they have better skill, speed, defense, attack, accuracy, etc. Plus Ninjas have chakra and pirates just have swords and guns. Ninja's weapons can have speed to it or power added to it. Ninjas can also summon an animal like partner to help while battling. They also have blood lines like the Uchiha and the Hyuuga in their abilities. Techniques can also be passed down to another young ninja to become stronger.

The old dogged vessel pulled stelthily up to the space port fast food window, and before the attendent had time to blink the stay fresh space sealed food container was gone...along with the radiation protected fries and drink containers.

in a coolness competition, pirates hands down. sailing the seven seas, rum, and best of all booty (in all possible senses of the word) compared to walking around head to toe in black and sneaking around in the dark like a dirty old pedophile in an all -girls catholic school

in a fight, it depends. in areas where the ninja could get get sneaky, he/she would have an advantage. in more wide open places, or somewhere like a pirate ship, the pirate would have an advantage because he/she can use a gun and is more used to moving/fighting on a ship
