Ok.. So the U/S tech said like 90% a boy.. we are going to reconfirm it next month. but.. My husband and I are both Muslim and live in USA. W are looking at baby boy names and I never thought it would be so complicated. We want names that are Muslim/arabic/american .universal.. We have considered..
Noah, Adam, Jacob, Zachariah, and so on..
But my main question is..
Would it be ok to name a muslim boy Isaac? That is my favorite name and I keep getting different things from family about the root of the name. I know its our child and our choice but I just want to make sure it would be ok.. Because I have heard its a jewish name.. Please help for those who know...
Thanks

Ishak for Isaac
Ya'akup for Jacob
Zakaria for Zachariah
Noh for Noah
Adam is the same (Adam)

Meaning Of The Name Isaac

I think you should name him the name that you most love, but I also understand your feelings. Isaac is a beautiful name....I also love Jacob and Noah. Good luck!

Isaac is a Hebrew name that means he who laughs.

Additional info:
From the Hebrew Yitzchrak, meaning "he will laugh". In the Old Testament, Isaac is the son of Abraham and Sarah, the husband of Rebecca and the father of Jacob and Esau. Sarah could not bear children and was already very aged at the time of his conception. She chose the name Isaac because she had laughed at the messengers of God announcing that she would finally have a son.

First of all congrats to you! Secondly, I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and still do not know if it is a boy or a girl, however if it is a boy we are naming him Isaac. My fiance is was raised catholic and I am more spiritual than religious. Both of us have heard from people "but it's Jewish and you guys are not!!" to which I reply "So?! It is actually found in many different religious texts" If YOU like the name and your hubby agrees with it, who cares what others say about it! I think its an adorable name.

The name Isaac was mentioned in the Quran next to Jacob, so I believe it is perfectly ok to name a muslim boy Isaac. Congratulations and don't spoil him too much.

With baby names, it really doesn't matter what others think about the name. If it is something that you and your husband like, then I say go for it.
Also, these days the religious name line is so muddied its hard to tell with some names, what religion the child is.

My son's name is Isaac so I think its a great name for your child! It is hebrew and means "he will laugh"or "laughter" so I think its appropriate for any little boy no matter what his ethnic background. All the names you have said are very biblical names but whose to say that his name can't have a biblical background. After all a name is meant to reflect your love and the child's personality not where it orignated from. You will find that a huge percentage of names originated from jewish or biblical back grounds.

best of luck but I say go for it and call him Isaac. Its a wonderful name!
