i know that the 360 has more games...but arent they all too repetitive? they're mostly FPS's and stuff...i love them, but my 8yr old brother also plays videogames, and its not like my parents are gonna let him play Gears of War or F.E.A.R.. which are the first games im gonna get lol does it have other games suitable for kids of that age?? does the PS3 have a wider variety of games?? im talkin about right now, not the future...so pls dont come to me and say "oh well the PS3's blue-ray disks havent rached their top quality and ****" haha and when will that be??? they cant even fill up regular DVD's yet... so why the need of it?
-so, which one would be more suitable for me and my 8yr old brother???
-list some of the games u like to play on either console

personally i have a Wii, because i prefer the social element of gaming ie. multiplayer etc.

but thats a whole other kettle of fish.

when it comes to the old xbox 360 vs PS3 question, well i would honestly say, without a hint of bias that the 360 is ur man.

Sony has lost pretty much all of its franchises... all the best ones anyway. I may get a 360 when GTA4 strikes (its coming out on both consoles at the same time)

we have a ps3 at work... and pretty much the only game we have worth playing is fight night 3. which is a very fun game, but its on both consoles.

perfect dark zero, bioshock, gears of war. these are all gold titles. and all are on the 360 only. Halo 3 to name another.

rockstar ping pong is another one that comes to mind when talking about kids games.

i know most of the games above are not kids games, but look, every console has its fair share of kiddy games, but Nintendo has more. The beauty of nintendo is that its kiddy friendly games are often actually killer games that adults and core gamers (who can get over their bias's) can really get into and enjoy. Wii has a killer lineup of games that u can play with ur brother and they are freaking fun man. mario strikers charged, zelda TP, soon Metroid, mario galaxy, smash bro's, mario kart. i could go on but CBF

In closing, here are ur best options in order of best to worst

1.wii and a 360
2. wii only
3. 360 only
4. ps3 only

note - i didnt put the ps3 in an option with another console simply because its just way too damn expensive.

Hope this helps dude.

The PS3 has better games. The PS3 has more variety in it's games. The PS3 will have more exclusive games with a more variety in game genres. Already the PS3 has more variety in the game selection. The majority of Xbox 360 exclusive games are just shooters.

Yeah of course the Xbox 360 is going to have more games, it's been out 1 year longer than the PS3, so comparing the systems on games right now shouldn't even be considered. By the end of 2008, then you can compare the 2 systems based on games because by then, the PS3 will have just as many good games as the Xbox 360, but the PS3 will have more exclusives.

And you mentioned what's the point in having a Blu-Ray disc. Well GTA 4 will have to be released on multiple discs on the Xbox 360 and it will be released on just 1 disc for the PS3 and that's just one reason to have Blu-Ray.

If you have a PS3 and have played games like Heavenly Sword like me, you would know why games need to have a larger disc format and you would see why PS3 exclusive games look better. Basically the Xbox 360 games are just the same as Xbox games because game developers can't make the levels any larger and they are so limited on what they can do.

Plus the Blu-Ray DVD is a HD format, the standard DVD was used by the PS2 and Xbox. Next-gen consoles should use new technology not old technology. Blu-Ray is new and is superior to standard DVD.

Xbox 360 has good FPS.
PS3 has movre variety of games. Rachet and Clank just came out and looks amazing!

I have both systems btw..I prefer xbox over playstation. But Xbox has a higher failure rate which pisses me off.
