-4/7s=-28
Multiply both sides by the denominator i.e.7s
-4*7s/7s=-28*7s
-4=-196s
s= -4/-196=1/49
An easier process is cross-multiplication
-4/7s= -28
7s*-28= -4
-196s= -4
s=-4/-196=1/49

oops wrong answer lol
check the last operation....
all fractions are nothing more then an unsolved division problem IE.......
-4/7s = -28
means ......
7s divided by -4 equals -28
some fractions ( division problems) can be reduced (solved )
some cannot
in this case -28 = -4 / 7s
multiply by -1 equals
28 = 4/7s
then
28*7 = 4/s
then
196 = 4/s
and then ....
49 = 1/s
s= 1/49
OK real simple
no sweat rite

-4/7s=-28
First off, you multiply 7s on both sides to get rid of the fraction.
-4=-196s
Then you just divide both sides by -196. And since both numbers are negative, they become positive.
s=4/196.
So, s=4/196 or in reduced form, 1/49.

if s is not included as a denominator of the fraction then this is wat you shud do:
7(-4/7 *s=-28)7 :(multiply both sides by 7 to cancel the denominator of the fraction)
you have:
-1(-4 * s= -196)-1 : multiply both sides by -1 so that youcan cancel the negatives signs of the equation
(4*s) / 4 =196 / 4 :then divide both sides by 4
s=49
however if s is part of the denominator then:
7*s (-4/ 7*s= -28) 7*s :multiply both sides by 7*s to cancel denominator
(-4) / -196 = (-196*s) / -196 : divide both sides by -196 to isolate the variable s
4/196 = s :lowest term
1/49 = s
