Not now, but I did at one point when I was a young mother and wife. I had a husband who couldn't relate to how I felt. He simply didn't understand other people's emotions. He didn't understand things like feeling hurt when a friend had betrayed a confidence. It was very lonely to look to this man for emotional support when he couldn't provide that. It was much like living alone, despite having a husband and several small children.
I suspect a lot of people feel alone when they don't have emotional support, despite being around other people. As I got older, I learned to look to other relatives and friends for emotional support. It's important to nourish and maintain supportive relationships. I set aside a couple of hours every weekend to call old friends. I make a list of who I haven't talked to in a while and call to keep up on their lives. It's too easy to get so caught up in the work of daily life that we lose track of friends.

Yeah, particularly, today. That's why I've been on line all day. Lazy, lonely Sunday. Should have gotten drunk last night then at least I'd have had a reason to be lazy (hungover) and I'd have felt too bad to be lonely.
