is that the only way to have harmony? incredible

It's not a question of electing a person because of their religion or race. People usually vote for an MP for their constituency. If that MPs party then forms a government, whoever happens to be leader of that party then becomes PM.

In order for there to be Muslim PM a Muslim needs first to become leader of a political party and one which is likely to form a government. The choice of party is therefore going to be either Labour or Conservative.

We the people do not vote for a Prime minister.

The head of state of UK is HM Queen Elizabeth II.

The State religion of England is Christian as respresented in and by the Church of England.

Don't blame me, I'm an Unbeliever and a Pagan.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

Britain is A SECULAR country. It is not based on any religion. It has got best democratic values.Muslims form about 3 percent of the population and enjoy full freedom as others. If you find out the pathetic state of affairs of non muslims in Pakistan .Afghanistan etc,British muslims are having a fair deal. Please do not try to divide UK on religious lines.Let it retain its glory.

Er excuse me? Are you completely mad? How would that promote justice and harmony? Surely the fact that you've mentioned Pakistani origins answers your question! Plus religion shouldn't even be a factor.

Hooooooooooooo Boy! Then you'd have shattered, chaotic & messed up situation as exists today in INDIA.

Even though the country and the Vedic religion are the source of practically everything good that in the world, the country is in shambles, being held together only by Hindus.

Publicly and in the media - Its a crime to be a Hindu, and even bigger crime to uphold your religion or assert your dignity. All sorts of goons rule the roost and it all because
HINDUS IN THEIR MERCY & GENEROSITY ALLOWED THE S.C.U.M TO RISE TO POWER, BE A PART OF OUR SYSTEM.

The result is the India you see today.

Go ahead, repeat our mistakes and suffer like us...!

Christians make up 71.6% of the UK population. Muslims make up 2.7% and those with no religion make up 15.5%.

Wouldn't it make more sense to leave religion as a personal issue and to choose a prime minister on merit, whatever his/her personal belief?

Otherwise we could choose to live in a country where we do not have the burden of making choices.

Why, we are a christian state. However if such a candidate came forward for Election and the population voted for them after the MP's of the party concerned and members voted for them, then yes they would win.
Likelyhood of it happening at the moment, slim.
