A thumbs down?
Why do people give a "down" when the question was something like "what's your favorite color" or similar?
I give them when the answer is rude or jsut plain STUPID......not funny, etc......

I give thumbs down in these instances:
1. The question is obviously humorous but some humor-deficient dullard gives a serious answer -- usually with an attitude of considering the asker to be a mental midget or dangerous cretin.
2. People who are completely and needlessly hostility or insulting.
3. People who answer a question like "Does anyone know..." with a simple "No" -- they're obviously more concerned with getting two stupid little points than being benevolent and productive members of this little YA society.
4. People who post incredibly lengthy answers that are simply copied from Wikipedia -- and to top it off, also include the link to the Wikipedia page in case anyone would like to go there and read the damned information again. These people deserve double thumbs-down, frankly.
5. And just to show you what a curmudgeon I can be, I also give thumbs down to folks who spell excessively bad, and also to people who provide unfunny/unwitty answers and then tack on "LOL" at the end.

I give thumbs down when someone thinks they are being clever but they are being stupid or sarcastic.They probably give a thumbs down on colours if they don't like the colour someone has mentioned.I give thumbs down if the answer has nothing to do with the question.I hate it when people give a thumbs down when they dont agree with someones point of view.Freedom of speech should be allowed!

I usually give a thumbs-up to everyone that answers my question, whether I like it or not. However, if the answer is a lame effort, or is rude, then I will give a thumbs-down.

Personally, I only give a thumbs down if the person is mean or disrespectful in their answer.

I give thumbs down to rude answers or confusing answers that don't have anything to do with the question. Love giving and getting thumbs up!

I only give thumbs down if someone is abusive disrespectful in their answer.

I don't give thumbs down to people for no reason!! People will give you thumbs down for being 1st to answer. It's crazy!! I give them thumbs down for being racist, ignorant, and rude!!

I rarely give a thumbs down, only for really crude or racist answers
