I have the Mirena IUD, and I love it. I haven't had a period in months, there is NO weight gain, and it is perfectly safe. It was a bit uncomfortable getting it put in, but you had a baby 6 weeks ago, so it will be much easier. I highly recommend it!

Before the Deliberate pregnancy in which i am half way through I had awesome experience with Depo, I gained about 5 lbs the first 3 months but it came off easy before my next shot appt. the great thing is you get one shot every 3 months, no pills to take nothing to remember just a two week grace period to renew your shot, the only down falls are SOME women ( very few I have been told) bleed constanly , and it can take up to six months after quitting the depo shot to conceive a child, but the one plus i absolutley loved was i had only about two days of a "period every three months, and no side affects or cramps, I had been on depo for three years with no problems and sure enough almost 5 months after stopping BC i conceived my first child I would DEFINENTLY recommend this but itts up to you and your DR. but i would discuss this option with him or her!

Don't take depo if you don't want weight gain. A majority of girls gain weight on it and have horrible health risks because of it. It is rare to see someone praise depo.

I'm on Kariva (pill) and have had NO side affects.

It is different from person to person, so you might need to experiment.
