You really don't want to have sex on the beach. I live at the beach, been there, done that, and it's not enjoyable when you have sand getting in places that it shouldn't be. I would have to say, it's not the "place" that matters, it's all in the timing, the setting, and most of all, your partner's affection.

personally I don't like sex on the beach, the sand gets everywhere, yuck.
in a stream or river on the side of a mountain is my most favorite. either in the river itself, or on the banks in a tent, listening to the water trickle over the rocks, perferrably with a train going by in the distance.
