It's safe to plug in, as long as the metal thingies that go into the wall, the plug, and your hands are completely dry. Also, there shouldn't be any standing water anywhere near it.

I don't know if you ruined it or not. You shouldn't plug it in until it's dry. If you can disassemble it a bit, you can see if it's dry or not. And don't forget that the controls have to be dry as well.

Can you just turn it upside down somewhere warm and forget it for a couple of months?
