Doctor J is absolutely correct, also, as you lose weight It makes sense that since you weigh less, the muscles don't have to work as hard so use less calories.

Physiologically, the body will ALWAYS lose weight when you use more calories than you take in. As you lose weight and are feeling/looking better sometimes we "sneak" in a few calories or don't hit the gym as much because the initial "I have to lose weight" drive just isn't there anymore.

If you want to lose the last pounds, keep a very strict account of the calories you take in, and the calories you use, then adjust as necessary. You might need to tweak your diet a bit on the carbs, proteins and fats. But everyone's different so you tweak it until your losing the weight and still feel healthy. Once your at the weight you want, add a few calories so you maintain that weight.

If you've got the desire, you'll make it....

The body adapts to reduced caloric intake by becoming more efficient in its use of energy. This was a necessary evolutionary adaptation to allow the species to survive during droughts and famines.
