So I have a 1 year old Gateway that came with 2 gigs of ram. I would like to add 2 more Gigs, but I am unsure what type of ram I am using. How do i find out what type (SDRAM, DDR, DDR 2, etc.) I currently have. Can I mix-and-match RAM? Thanks!

Go to the gateway web site and pull up your model number pc and check the specs. That may be the highest you can add.

scan your computer there to find out the ram you need. for best result, use the same ram as you have. also, be sure to have a 64-bit os to access rams beyond 3.2 gig or 3.4 gig.

1st off you don't need any more ram if you dont play games on you comp.

Just get the product number of your computer and go to gateway and find out what type of ram it takes

its probably ddr2. there are programs that will show you your type of ram like sisioft sandra, or everest, but your best bet is looking up your model and checking the specs on the site.

If you want more ram, even when you don't need it, go to www.crucial.com.
They tell you exactly what you want.
