No. The only thing that will surely die in 2011 will be reruns of that particular show.

Whoa! there was a heck of a lot more destruction during the 1940s, or done by, oh I don't know, ANY volcanic eruption than happened on 9/11 or because of global warming (global warming is predicted to potentially cause some disasters some of which *might* happen in our lifetime but HAVE NOT happened yet).
Anyway, I wouldn't trust anything nostradamus may have said, but even if it were true it would be the "choice" made in 2011, they didn't tell you when the consequences of that choice would come about.

Gack! Well my respect for the History channel just went waaay down. They have no business airing this sensationalistic pseudoscience.

First off, ol' Notry's "writings" (rantings would be a more accurate word) have been "translated" (another word used only loosely) for centuries. His thoughts are so disheveled, they can very easily be interpreted to mean anything. The bible's book of Revelations is a course in logic compared to him.

Second, his writings _have_ been interpreted to mean almost anything. People have been predicting the end of the world since, well, almost the beginning, and they always cite some authoritative prophet (an oxymoron) like Nostradamus. Thing is, they've been wrong...100% of the time.

Don't pay any attention to Obnoxiousdamus. He's been wrong 100% of the time too, even if people are skilled at "interpreting" his words to make him sound like he was right. He was just another crazy old loon living in a barbaric, superstitious time.

However, on the off chance that he is right, go on ahead and mail me all your money; you won't be needing it anyway, right? :-)

LOL i was watching that too...

first off he was talking about the war still going on between 1999 and 2012. the prediction is will war spread into world war 3 which will be more extreme then any cold war of any other war happening. the thing is with the amount of things that are going on now. you can only say what has happened into the past... but if we saw even 3 mins into the furture the prediction ofdeath is not a spontanious thing. its over time... war will be a very extreme time for us now.

but the only thing everyone can do is become skeptics(disagreeing people) about the future. the only people that can solve this question is the people that have all the cards... the information in which the news portrays as classified. the only thing i can say is that this is a world of nukes and power.

you might not die but he says that it will be one hell of a year.

It is true that mankind has the ability to end our existence on this planet as we know it. You say that you don't want to die because you'll only be 19 years old. Nothing in the prediction says that the world will be removed from existence. Or that mankind will cease to exst. It only says that the end of the world is at hand. Even if that is the case, that only suggests that the world in which we live now is going to end. Not that life itself will be over. And who is to say that the world of that future will be worse than it is now. That reborn world might be the utopia that we all dream of. It might be the beginning of great and wonderful things. Your suggestion that the end of the world will be disastrous is a very negative attitude. It suggests that you are not considering ALL of the possibilities that exist. I feel sorry for you and for anyone who shares your fears because that is the thing that limits you and your potential to be greater than you are. And it is also the reason that the world is in the shape it's in now.

People die all the time. Generally, this is very sad and like most things in life, it will harm us to dwell on it too much. The same can be said about shows that make dire predictions. It may have been notradomus's job to make dire predictions, but that doesn't mean they will come true. Most of us try to find healthy ways to live each day. And no one can live life based on dire predictions weather they are true or not. It is not healthy to make decisions based on what historical figures like notradomus say. It is kinda fun to watch a show like the history channel. And it is good to try and understand what death and dying mean to us. But I try to do it when I am well rested and feed and have good support from family and friends. However, sometimes it is necessary to sweat out the answers. Sometimes it is hard and painful and necessary. You need to decide, but I'd think twice about wasting my day wondering weather what is said on tv is important. Global warming and even 9/11 are like huge events that go far beyond my influence, but I can find a way to sort out what I believe about them. It is part of growing up. But again, it is best to talk to close personal friends and family that will treat me in a healthy way. If no one is available. Sometimes, I can wait or talk to some other trustworthy person. I believe there are lots of good people working on all these problems. And in time we will all see good ways to work them out. This may sound optimistic, but there are so many more important things for younger people to do. Life need not be needlessly painful. It is preferable when it is not. I try not to make my life hurt when there is a healthier way to be.

No we will not.
Well if you read the Bible in Revelations it says the earth has 1,007 more years to go, after Jesus Christ comes to deliver Israel from her enemies and sets up his Kingdom. Most Christians including myself have the hope of the rapture of the church. It is comparable to Noah being saved on the ark.

Don't put so much faith in Nostrodomus.
Sounds like a "sensational" interpretation of his writings to sell commercial time on the history channel.

If we are going to heed all the prophets of doom, the world has already ended many times. It should be good for a few billion years yet.

Yes of course it's true. The world's doomed since it is full of people who will believe anything and who will get anxious over nothing.
