They are by providing security, a higher living standard, better medical care, improving the roads and other infrastructure, and all the opportunities that go along with a modern country - even in the occupied areas.
EDIT: Whoever gave desertvi... a thumbs down doesn't know the history of the area. The west bank was part of Jordon; Gaza was part of Egypt. The Arabs ruling Jordon didn't particularly want the west bank back and the Arab states have done as much as Israel in the past to block an independent Palestinian state.

After three wars where those Arab states tried to destroy Israel those Arab states lost their territories.
I challenge anyone to name another time in history when a nation was attacked, it defeated the aggressor, and captured some of its territory, and then the loser demanded the return of that area for peace.
Only in Israel dose logic work backwards.

The territories which Israel seized and occupied are those claimed by Palestinians. They are not Arabs. The Arabic word for a Palestinian is "Filistinya", meaning Philistine. And the Arabs haven't done squat for the Palestinians since 1948.

The land in question belongs to Israel, not only did they win it back during the war, it has been declared Israel's by the League of Nations. Arab has no claim to the land.

Sorry, but Israel TOOK those terrirtories from the countries in question. Israel did so during the six day war, you know the one where the arabs found out that their militaries suck.
To answer your question. No, they shouldnt have to pay for what was taken during a war.

No way.
They could call all of their faithful home (they are all over the world from the Great Dispersion). Since they hold many high positions and have tons of money, they could fortify themselves very well. Then they could do as most other nations have done and expand their boarders until they are happy with their space. (Any refugees can be put onto reservations.) With their knowledge, wealth and wisdom, they would be quite a world power indeed.
