Monism is a belief in one single God & no other opposing forces. Bad things happen but we don't say it's caused by Satan. Instead we just say, we don't yet understand all that God has created for us.

Dualism is belief that the universe is a struggle between good and evil, God & Satan. Sometimes God wins. Other times Satan wins.

they gave you the definition above, but to put it in simpler terms, monism is when there is only one substance in existence in reality (e.g. "idealism" where ideas are the only real thing, and "materialism" where physical matter is the only real thing) and dualism is when there are two fundamentally substances in existence in reality.
