You would naturally wish to store it until dry enough to burn ,this is likely to be around a year or near about.Very dry logs of wood or suitable stones can be used at either end of the cut logs to raise it above the ground .
I have a paved area in my yard which is used to for this & other drying jobs around the farm.

a year or two if on the ground, as the lower ones will rot and you may get bugs in the wood. all though of course it would still burn, but with a raised floor the firewood should stay good for several years

Keep it off the ground or at least know that the ones touching the ground will rot.
That said, it'll be prime in about a year. Good in 2 years and start to get too dry and burn too fast after 3 years. BUT you can still use it.

You can store it to just before you burn it.
