I have a lot of trouble sleeping and now I've become addicted to Tylenol PM and Nyquil and those make me feel so groggy in the mornings, so I'm really trying to get away from those, but if I don't take them, I can't sleep at all. Tonight I bought some melatonin, so I'm about to take it, but I keep stressing out worrying about whether I am actually going to be able to fall asleep. I know that stressing about it is just going to make it harder to fall asleep, so I was just wondering if anyone who has taken it could tell me if it really helps you sleep or not? Thanks!

It works wonderful for me and I have had insomnia for many years. It is a restful sleep unlike you get with tylenol PM. Your body makes melatonin on its own. It is natural and chemical free. It just boosts your own system to add to the melatonin your body naturally makes. Don't worry. It is quite safe.

Melatonin is made naturally by the body so it won't hurt you. I have taken it many times and it puts me to sleep but I feel groggy the next day so you might want to start with a low dose first to see how it affects you in the morning.

Yes! it does. And it is a great antioxident. Just don't od or it can be bad.Never over 5 mg. You should alternate between Valerian root and melatonin so your body doesn't get too used to it.

I've used it every so often and it has helped me. I'd have trouble falling asleep sometimes because of pain, and then staying asleep for more than a couple of hours at a time. I took a pill about an hour before bedtime and I would sleep for at least 5 hours before nodding awake a little. So for you it should be longer. If you try to relax about taking it then it helps more.
