i know this sounds stupid but if i wanted to make an engagment more special. we are getting married next year, i think i did it to plain when i did how could i make it so it would be unique or what could i do to show my love is still pure and true to him. weve been dating for 5 years on dec 5th. we have a son and one on the way. i know i know alot of people say kids after marriage. long story short both times we planned a date i ended up getting pregnant. thi stime im still keeping the date. but i love my fiance more than anything in the world i feel like i just did the engagment to plain how would you do it...if you could do i so spontaneously...thanks for all comments

The engagement itself is just a link in the chain. The birth of your child will soon far eclipse that moment. A 'too plain' engagment moment is no less of a commitment than people who decide to go all flashy and rent a billboard, or have a plane fly a message overhead. :)
Focus on your kids, your wedding and your life together. :)

I dont know what you mean? How many times can you make it exciting and special before you actually follow through with it?
Why not be spontaneous and elope. Why spend the money and the time on a wedding. People in your shoes its like "wow FINALLY they decided to get married...." How special can that be? Why not have a special time between just the two of you and get eloped and spend a weekend away? Throw a party after.
I dont know. Thats what we did. I mean, i wasnt pregnant or anything, but the thought of a wedding was like inviting ebola over for dinner. Pure chaos. It was more special to just be together the two of us.
You've been living like married people for so long now, there isnt anything special left. Its not like youre going to get married and go off and set the foundation for this long term relationship, youve already done that, just without the ceremony and the people.
To me it just seems a waste.
Wanna be special? Go to vermont for the weekend. Its 25 bucks to get married. Not bad.
