Whenever I go out, I see people with their own styles and they stick to it.
How do people "find" their style and know its "who they are", so to speak.

I'm nearly 17, and I've been through many styles. But can't find one, that i really like. And during the different stages, I've wasted a lot of money on clothes.

So how do you know that, that is "who you are"?
(I'm not meaning this as in "labels")

No rude answers, ta.

Lots of people go through those changes. Some people find their look sooner, but some take time.

I found mine very early on, but I still went through a very disturbing phase where I changed my whole wardrobe. It was a nightmare dealing with all that seriously wrong clothing when I came to my senses. So don't fret, you'll find your path. Enjoy the journey along the way.

Eventually, you figure out what is most comfortable to you. You are young yet, so trendy is still ok, but eventually you will have a job or family and decide to dress a certain way in order to fill the roles that you play each day.

For example, if you work in an office, you may need suits or business casual clothes. But, if you work as a roadie for a rock band, t-shirts and jeans will do.

Don't worry about fitting in so much as being comfortable in the clothes that you wear. They should allow you to function normally in society for what you need to do.

It seems like you're trying too hard -- making too big a thing of it. Just wear whatever suits you, and looks good on you. That's it -- that's your style! Enjoy being you!

I completely agree with "Gee Wye".
That's the best advice here, that's been given.

Never be afraid to try something that you would normally think, "I would never wear that". Because it just might suit you.
But definitely go with "Gee Wye" 's advice!

Good luck to you.
