Most of the time it happens right after my period, but now I am on a BC that I only get my period every three months. The thing is that I am still getting it when I am off my period too. I don't really have a foul odor coming from there. Last time I knew, I didn't have an STD of any kind and I am just really trying to figure it out. My only guess is maybe that some of my clothes are just too tight there, but it still persists. Right now it's been going on for about a week and a half. It itches really bad and is a little sore. It's a little swollen I think from scratching and there are a few bumps as well.

Hi, there.

You may have a yeast infection. They are very common - many women of all ages get them. Yeast infections can be caused by clothes that are tight, and they can also be caused by stress, and by anything that changes the healthy flora in the vagina. If you want to be certain, you should go to the doctor for an exam. However, treatment for yeast infections can be found easily over-the-counter at a drug store or grocery store. Look for products like Monistat. There is a range of over-the-counter treatments - some are messier, some take longer (7 days vs. 3 days), and they range in price as well (with the least messy and shortest-term generally being the most expensive treatments).

Hope that helps!

Okay. well you could have a yeast infection. It is common at all ages for girls. You may need to see your family doctor and let him know. If you wear underwear with nylon in it, that could be a reason. Also if your jeans are too tight. You could be allergic to your soap, or detergent so if your mom has made any changes recently let her know. There are over the counter creams to help with out itching. If it is internal, you have to make an appoinment to get looked at. Don't worry about your mom freaking. The doctor will be able to do an exam and assure her you are still a virgin. Good luck!

are you on depo provera by chance? I am as well, and while I only get a real period every 3 - 4 months, i get the symptoms of having my period everymonth like clockworks, just not the bleeding.

I would ask your gynocologist about it next time you have to see them.
