my friend cuts her self, yes its her fault and she knows it, but im worried about her...three or four days ago she cut (with a bit of broken glass), its not very deep but its very big and the center is greeny colour, she said it is hard to the touch and isnt VERY painful but slightly, also around it it has about a MM of redness, she also said that when she did it, it was very hot to the touch but isnt any more also she is not experienceing any symtoms in herself, she is willing to go to a doctor but not unless its really serious like it could end up geting like chopped off or something.

Definately sounds like an infection. She should go to a doctor. Untreated infections can get into the bloodstream and lead to very severe consequences. The doctor may also be able to refer her to someone who can help her deal with the issues that are leading her to be a cutter. I wish her the best of luck! Sounds like your being a good friend.

where did she cut herself? has she been putting any bactine or neosporine or anything on it? or has she been keeping it covered? How old is your friend? when was her last tetanus shot? according to the book "take care of yourself" Does she have a fever? is the area just red or oozing pus? is there swelling at the area around the wound? if the answer is yes get medical attention. has she been keeping the wound clean and covered? a daily soak of the area in warm water will remove debris and keep the scab soft. watch for signs of infection!!! your friend probably has a high tolerance for pain or she would not cut herself. a lot of questions for a big problem not just this cut but for the act of cutting. your friend does need medical attention not just for the cut.

Depending on how deep the wounds are this could be natural. When I get cuts they get all pink and sore. It could also be they're just irritated. They will get pink/red and sore if they have been rubbed too much. If they're little tiny things like paper cuts I'd get it checked out. However, it doesn't make any sense that it would have anything to do with your liver, as your liver only deals with digestion and excretion. It has nothing to do with the healing process.

If it is turning green, then yes, definately a possibility! I would watch for pus or thick fluid seeping from the wound. IF so then try cleaning it and keeping peroxide and neosporin on it. If it gets worse, the you need to get her to the doctor because on her arm then infection could get in her system and spread, that could eventually lead to amputation but that takes a long time of infection. Really treat it and talk to her and maybe consider getting her help to talk about her problems!

If it's hard in the middle and not that painful, then it's probably not infected. If the redness spreads or it gets more painful, then she should see a doctor. Regardless, she should see a therapist or something.

It sounds like she has the beginning of an infection.

She needs to clean it with hydrogen peroxide. Then apply antibiotic ointment and keep it covered with a bandaid.

im not sure but if you call a local hospital you can tell them the symptoms. they will let you know if it needs medical attention. or at least how to better care for it at home.
