I like that one the best. I liked it when it came out in 1967. I was only 14 then and didn't know until a few years later that it was kind of a protest song about how everybody was just trying to keep up with their neighbors, (keep up with the Joneses) and how nobody wanted to get out of the same old social routine, which is what the original hippies were all about. The original hippies were middle class college students who wanted to protest the way society was and break away from the everyday boring social life that was a drag at the time. I'm sure you know that Carol King (along with her husband) wrote this song and several other Monkee songs. Carol was one of my favorite singers as well as songwriters, and her album "Tapestry" (1971) stayed on the charts for many years. If you have not heard this album, I recommend it. I don't know why I got off the subject. sorry.

yes....used to love the Monkees!!!....u r naming Monkee songs...brings me back to younger days...I had a very very busy day....I hardly got a chance to get on here..I still need to shower.....but I'll be on now and then later....did u have a pleasant valley Sunday???.....p.s....I saw the Monkees in concert many,many years ago....
