There are several plants that claim to repel mosquitoes, however, none of them are very effective. There is the citronella plant which I have four of them hanging around my patio and they don't work worth a darn. There is the citronella scented geranium which doesn't work any better. However, there are some very effective yard sprays and citronella candles and coils that do work when burned.

citronella will definately deter mosquitos,i used to own the plant,you can also use the leaves as a repelant,

No... Otherwise, we'd all have them...! Just take care of all the standing water around your home... That should take care of 95% of them...
