Hey. You probably need to download your drivers. Go to the support and download section of the company website that you got your computer from. It happened to me.

If you have reinstalled, you must make sure you have all the drivers for existing hardware. Luckily you can get a wireless connection so should be able to get them (Once you've found the right ones, lol).

-- Do a full MANUAL windows update over and over until the windows website says you are fully up to date. Every new install I do needs extensive windows updating. ("update.windows.com" I think - Use their system scan to check your update status out). If using WinXP - DO run SP2 - some say don't but their completely wrong.

1 - Do complete reinstall of the drivers/software of your ethernet card first. That's easiest and probably what's gone wrong since you have a new Windows install and it's ethernet connection that's not working.
2 - Do reinstall of the router using original Belkin disks (Go right through the entire process including uninstalling first if it tells you to).
3 - Is the router or ethernet cable broken? Try another cable (Actually do this straight away, before any reinstalling).

You could also try using the USB modem your ISP probably supplied if you got your account not too long ago. The installers they build are quite well designed and might just put a few required files in place that you are currently missing.

:)

The majority of routers have a configuration page where you need to set certain parameters.

I presume you have checked in device manager that your ethernet port is working aand has no conflicts.

You need to install the driver for your ethernet port. If this is onboard (i.e., built on to your motherboard) it'll be on the driver CD for your motherboard. (You may see it listed as LAN.)
