I am using 1997 Grand. Lately I have difficulty to start the engine in the morning or when the engine is cold. When i try to switch on, the fuel and battery meter did not goes up, fuel indicator is "ON" indicating no fuel in the tank even I have full tank. I need to crank , sometime as much as 20 crank before the meter goes up. Sometime I can only get the engine to start after more than 20 crank. Very frustrating. Could it be the PCM is the caused of it. But when the engine has started, the engine runs normal. When the engine temperature is hot, everything is normal, the engine can be started with 1 crank and all indicators are normal when I switch on the engine. For your info, the battery is new, the starter is in good condition, the spark plug is new, both oil & fuel filter is new.

Sounds like you need a thourough diagnosis. It could be one of many things. The ECM power relay could be sticking, it could be an ignition switch problem, an instrument cluster concern, or the ECm itself as you stated. It will need to be taken to a reputable shop and diagnosed to know for certain.

Do not push on the throttle before you start engine. This is common practice for carbureted engines but confuses the computer in fuel injected eengines. Check the engine coolant sensor, it may not be telling the computer it is cold. If it fails the computer will not supply the correct fuel mixture. You do not have a choke so all depends on sensors. Clean the throttle body and check the throttle position sensor located on the throttle body, it may be worn or sticking. You may want to purchase a CHILTONS manual at auto supply to help.

extra contemporary automobiles immediately alter for altitude adjustments. you are able to attempt changing the oil to a distinctive and extra suitable viscosity and consider air clear out for clogging. MAP sensor, BARO sensor, MAF Sensor, IAC Sensor and the PCM are key factors for this adjustment.
