I am having the hardest time finding the perfect baby name! Every name I like my boyfriend cannot stand and every name he likes I don't like. How do we come to find a name we love? I look and look at all kinds of names and everything is becoming so overwhelming! Maybe you guys have some suggestions that will help!

Well, he doesn't like any of the names I do, Gage, Christian, Mateo, Adan, Xavier. And I don't like any of the names he likes, I don't even remember what they all are, I just know I don't like them. For girls I like Nadia, Brielle, Ileana, Joshlyn and Marin. He likes Isabell, Jolee, and some other names I don't like. We can't seem to agree on anything, we both kinda like Xavier but are not too sure if that really is something that we wanna scream in the park and what do you use as a nickname? We both want to be able to give it a nickname, neither of are names are nickname-able! And we do not want to name it after any family members.

Yeah, I've looked at the books and the sites on-line, I'm just nervous I'll end up naming it something that I end up hating!

BTW die_laffing, how does your statement make any sense? Have an abortion, but go get marrried? Humm, yeah, you need to call 1-800-CHARTER cause you need serious help.

There are ways that you could compromise. Here are some:

1. You could take letters from your name and his name. Example: Charlotte + Adrian = Alana (girl) or Cade (boy)

2. The girl could make a list of names that you think the guy would like. The guy will make a list of names that he thinks the girl would like.

3. Make a list of 20 names that you like. The guy will make a list of 20 names that he likes. Then, see which same name lands each of your lists.

4. Go to a baby book or baby name website.
Hope this helps.

Xavier would be a nice middle name for a boy you could do something like....
Nathan Xavier (Nate)
Jonathan Xavier (Nathan)
Colton Xavier (Cole)
Braford Xavier (Brad)
Or you can focus on just the nick name thing. I personally love AJ and EJ for a boy. See if you can agree on any combinations for those like..
Andrew Joseph
Asher James
Emerson Jake
Evan James

For a girl I like Elle and Meg for nicknames.
Try...
Ellison
Elisabeth
Ellen
Meghan
Megan

First, I don't understand why you HAVE to have a nickname. Why would you pick a name for your child that you instantly want to change? Doesn't make sense. Anyway, I think you need to compromise. You don't need to absolutely love the name. Whatever you name your child you will fall in love with it because your baby will become that name to you. You could name your kid Cheeseburger and within a week the name would conjure loving thoughts of your child. Just agree on something you can both tolerate and go with it.

I really like Xavier but maybe you could spell it Zavier. I just think that spelling is more in keeping with how it is pronounced and looks better too.

Brielle is cute for a girl but what about these too...

Mikayla
Jasmine
Jayde/Jade
Imogen
Paige
Eliza
Zahli
Zara

Isaac
Lucas
Saxon
Seth
Riley
Mitchell
Jake
Jayson

Best of luck deciding!

Both of you make separate lists then see if there are any names that are similar and go from there or switch lists and cross out the names you don't like and see what that leaves you with. Maybe you could choose the first name and he could choose the middle.
♥Good luck and you will come to a decision! If all else fails remind him that the child is in your body and the pain you will have to go through to bring his child into this world!!! ;)

die_laffing I can't believe you said that!!! That was totally uncalled for and who are you to be saying such things! It is more of a sin to abort the child than to have it out of wedlock!!!
