Since, no matter who is actually in office, it is the moneyed people who actually "run" things, I don't think we will ever "recover".
I thought for a long time that humanity was on a road to greater evolutionary heights--to understanding, tolerance, morality, peace; but it seems we are backsliding at an accelerated rate.
