I'm not going to start condemning sex or anything like that. My question is that do you believe that our society is too sexualized? It's all over TV, the Internet, movies, music, and other media outlets. Heck, toy companies market those Bratz dolls to pre-preteen girls.

Now, here's the second part of it. If you believe that society is or isn't too sexualized, do you think that the current amount of sex in our culture is too much, too little, or just right?

No smart aleck questions please.

That's a difficult question.

I think that the way society looks at sexuality is not right. I believe that sex is a good thing and everyone should know it, but I don't believe that women should be teasing millions of viewers with their bodies in magazines, TV, the beach, school, etc. I think that women should not be too shy about themselves, but they shouldn't flaunt it either... they should be modest without being ashamed of anything. I think there is a time and a place for immodesty, and the public is not it. Women should not be deliberately exposing and exhibiting themselves for other men to lust after. This includes pornography, TV commercials and shows, and daily life (as I said before). Not to say that it's all about women, or that it's all about exposure, but you get my point. I don't want to blame anyone, because lots of people don't even know what they're doing wrong.

Anyway, those are pretty much my thoughts. If women didn't feel that they were forced to dress and behave immodestly, things would be much better. And if men didn't feel that they had to be highly sexualized in order to be real men, that would also be much better. And pornography should not exist--the bedroom is the only place where a person should experience nudity and sex.

Yes, very much so.

Remember back when sex wasn't allowed on tv? When Lucy and Ricky slept in separate beds? Society was much better off.

Sex has ruined our society. I don't have anything against sex, but I do think it's wrong when it's commercialized.

What happens in the bedroom---shouldn't be broadcasted for all to see.

People will argue "Well if you don't want to see that stuff on tv then turn the channel". That's the thing though. Our society is so sexualized that no matter how hard you try, you can't hide from it.

The image that society portrays refelcts on the demands created by the media that echos what "we" think is admireable, sexy, attractive. Its all mental stimulation which boils down to supply and demand from major markets. We have Barbie dolls that look annorexic. What does that image tell us about the society we will in today?

Sexuality and being sexy attracts people and pays a high price.

Nope, hardly at all. Here is the USA we are sexually repressed and very puritan.Movies pretend to show sex but don't go very far. The violence in our movies is much more graphic. But talk about anything other than the missionary position and the uptight MPAA gives your movie an NC17. Show all the graphic and horrific violence you can dream of (like Saw, et al.) and the worst you get is an R rating.

In Europe, sex is considered a natural part of life. Violence is condemned and their movies are much less graphically violent. Non-traditional forms of sexuality are never considered deviant.

It probably is. I don't think it's like people were having less sex in the '50s, they just weren't talking about it. Still, the emphasis on sex in today's society is somewhat misleading, and I see it drive people all the time to enter relationships purely for that purpose. I think the emphasis should be on people and who they are, and less on their bodies and what they can "offer" you.

No I don't beleive that our society is to sexualized. I beleive sex is a natrual thing and our society tries to hide it to much. For example I lived in Germany for four years. In Germany you can go to a public park and see nude sunbathing or a store and porno is not hidden. everyday in the newpaper there is a naked women. They have no more sexual crimes then the states do. In fact there rapes and sexual crimes are less. I beleive this is do to them not trying to hide sexuality or making a big deal out of it.

I think it is too sexualized, and there may be too much sex but I don't know about all that.
