They say an egg is more expensive than sperm, by watching children in the playground, I realized how different parents treat their little ones, there are so much more pampering involve in treating little girls vs little boys. You have to care for their feeling and when they grow up, you have to protect them so much physically- not to get pregnant.
It seemed that men are less valued in United States, there are so many guys at my age that couldn't find girlfriends. You get pull off to the force anytime when a country needs you, don't you think that it's unfair for male and female to be treated so differently?

-This is the opposite from where I came from, boys are the one that are pampered to death.

Wow, a loaded, controversial question. In my opinion, many young men are being raised differently in some areas. Young men are taught to cook, clean, do laundry and, to be sensitive to other people's feeling, among other things. Years ago,,the man was considered the bread winner and the women were " housewives" and usually didn't work outside the home. In some ways, society still considered the male to be the " bread winner".Today, couples both need to work and share household chores. I know that there will people that disagree with my opinion on how young men are being raised. I have 2 beautiful girls so, I have never actually raised a boy. But, I have 2 nephews. One of them is the son that I never had. Both of my nephews have been taught to be some of the things that I mentioned in the beginning. The role of the sexes is slowly changing but, has made progress. In some situations, the woman earns more than her hubby or significant other. There are men that have become " house husbands". I'm sure that I'll get the thumbs down. But, I'm expressing my opinion. Ruth

Men are looked at as strong in this nation, in order to be strong you can not cry or complain every time you have a problem or an accident. We are or were, taught that women are kind, delicate people, who need love, understanding, and should be protected against anything that could hurt them even if that means you (a man) having to push her out of the way of a bullet and take it yourself. Now, many guys do not treat women that great, that was started in the last 20 years. Now guys are meaner to women and they seem to actually like it, which really bothers me!!! Women are seen as pure, kind, soft, loving, beings that need a man to protect them from all the bad things in this world. So, we tend to teach our boy's to be tough, and not cry or get upset every time something happens to them. No I don't think we value women more than men, we just see them in different roles. Yet I also know that it is really hard to find a good, loving woman in today's world. Seems like all or almost all American women want is a guy that they think is drop dead handsome. Who 98% of the time treats them like crap, or a guy that is rich and can buy them everything. Women do not seem to really want a normal guy that will love them, respect them, and want to protect them. We do value girls more than any other nation I think as a rule. Yet we (men, boys) are not often valued by women. It really does suck!

considering that it's the males that keep the family line going and the quota on how many children you can have in china it's not that surprising really, depressing the lengths that some couples will go to to have a male child but not surprising. now here where sex is a far more open subject and looking at what happens to most teen-age parents in both the US and canada it's the parents of the female child that ends up raising their own grandchildren so genreally that is why the females are coddled as much as they are, in my opinion anyway

Well what makes sense to you? Pamper your boy and he may become soft or pamper your girl and she becomes dependent? Chances are both genders will become spoiled. You shouldnt pamper either child. But with that being said, girls tend to be more sensitive, so after a young girl falls down you wont tell her to stop crying because she needs to be a man. Society tells you how to condition children to act. Please take Sociology 101 if you havent already.

it was the opposite for many centuries. Now it seems that way. But it's because we women need more pampering, we go through a lot of emotional times. And unfortunately the majority of people in the world still value men more.

men are never supposed to cry or show emotion and be tough here. girls are supposed to be "girly" and cry, whine, and be bitc*y because they have periods.

Im not sure if "valued" is the best word. Men and women are good for different things.
