"My Maria" was originally recorded by B.W. Stevenson in the early 1970s. It was not a country song although two country artists had a hit with it years later. Could that be what you're thinking of?

Is it some Justin Timberlake song? Because in the beginning of one of his songs off of his album "Justified", there's some guy singing "meee-eee-eee-eee" in like opera style. It's "Cry me a River". Not sure if that helps or not, but it's worth a shot.
