Where can I find a link that would tell me what the square miles of each U.S state before 1850? I looked it up on google and didn't find much. Does anyone know a good history website?

You can look at a map and do a sidexside calculation based on their shapes at both times. Basically, the main change for states was that in 1850, Virginia included West Virginia, but the area for both is still the same. As far as I remember, any state in 1850 has the same area (give or take for delta growth or river shifts) as it does now.
