Because, I honestly think it's all bunk for Bush to start another war. I don't trust anything the media says anymore since it's just another political machine this administration utilizes to get their policies accepted with the public.

You guys sure are smart. I wish the conservatives I worked with were half as smart as you folks. I'm skeptical about anything the politicians tell us, especially after doing research online about Iran.

Luke Skywalker was a threat to the Empire.

Yes, he is a threat. Iran has been a threat long before the Bush administration.

As for the media being a tool for the administration, they are for every administration, regardless of whether the administration is Republican or Democrat.

If you think that there is a difference between the parties anymore you really need to do some research.. Neither party cares about you, me or anybody else, they are the same with the same goals. Currently those goals are a North American Union (started many years ago, but was given a strong push by Clinton with NAFTA and now with Bush Jr).

Ahmadinejad is not a direct threat as in he will launch missles at the United States. He might launch them at Israel ir perhaps Italy or France in a few years but ICBM capabitity is probably decades away. Could weapons made in Iran be used in the United States? Yes, they could. Iran has demonstrated a hatred and disregard for Western civilization. He could easily give nuclear weapons to Hezbullah, Al Quida, or any of a number of fanatic Islamic Facists groups in the world. These people have demonstrated a complete lack of what we in the west consider moral or civilized behavior. They have told us repeatedly what they want to do. What you have to ask yourself is do you think they are lying. If they are lying it's ok for them to get nuclear weapons. If they are not lying and they get nuclear weapons millions of people will die. You don't have to believe the media, there are web sites that have Ahmadinejad on video with his statements. Is he lying is the only question. Are you personally willing to bet your life as well as the life of your family and friends?
It doesn't matter where you live, if you live in the West your city could be chosen as the terrorist target. If you live in the Middle East your city could be chosen as the retaliation target.
Think of it as a logic puzzle.
1) Iran gets nuclear capability and uses it - millions die
2) Iran gets nuclear weapon and doesn't use it- no one dies
3) Iran gives up the quest for nuclear weapons - no one dies
4) Iran is prevented from getting nuclear weapons by force - a couple of hundred thousand people die.

2 is a small probability because historically they have attacked Israel attacke thier neighbors, threatened war with western powers.

3 is unlikely as the powers that be in Iran have staked a lot of political capital on getting nuclear capability and it would seriously cripple their reputation in the world.

That leaves us with either 1 or 4, personally I pick 4 as the lesser of the two evils.

In more ways than you know.

Ever hear of Hojjatieh Shiism. That is the Ahmadinejad's faith.
The Hojjatieh movement is considered to be so radical that it was banned in 1983.
the Hojjatieh sect adds messianic and apocalyptic elements to an already volatile theology. They believe that chaos and bloodshed must precede the return of the 12th Imam, called the Mahdi. But unlike the biblical apocalypse, where the return of Jesus is preceded by waves of divinely decreed natural disasters, the summoning of the Mahdi through chaos and violence is wholly in the realm of human action. The Hojjatieh faith puts inordinate stress on the human ability to direct divinely appointed events. By creating the apocalyptic chaos, the Hojjatiehs believe it is entirely in the power of believers to affect the Mahdi’s reappearance, the institution of Islamic government worldwide, and the destruction of all competing faiths.

I agree, the news media has failed us. How can we make decisions or form opinions with just lies to work with?

Ahmadinejad says some kreepy things, wants nuclear weapons, wants to destroy Isreal (that means innocent people).

But we can't trust our information sources, the news media has turned into "Newstainment" they are now entertainment gossips, corporate shills, and right wing propaganda pushers.

He promised that his Messiah would be returning in 3 to 3.5 years in 2005 but first there needs to absolute chaos note that their nuclear enrichment program is full speed ahead. He believes by creating a World War the Muslim Messiah Mahdi will rise out of a well and establish a Sharia on Earth.

Do you really believe there are no gay people in Iran just as their nuclear enrichment program is for 'peaceful' energy?

Time_Wounds is right. You Libs will never believe it until a nuclear warhead is heading our way in just a few short years.

I think he could become a threat but I agree with you, I think this administration will say and do anything to make the American people believe that Iran is a threat so we can once again go to war with another middle eastern country. I trust nothing this administration says after they convinced us(the American public) that Iraq and Saddam Hussein was a threat to us. We all know how that turned out!

he is a threat to our Allie, Israel,.....he has stated that he wants to wipe them off the face of the map,.....as for the media being a tool of this administration, well for a tool for them they sure do give him a bad rap,.....

As of now, no he is not a threat.

That being said I dont want him to have nukes, but I do not think war will be necessary to prevent that.

I think sanctions and an embargo would be enough to pressure his superiors to shut him up.

Yeah, it's not like he took Americans hostage during the Iranian revolution.

It's not like his country already provides money, training and weapons to terrorist organizations all over the world.

I'm sure he hasn't declared that he wants to wipe Israel off the map and isn't developing nuclear weapons to do so.

Just for the record, how are womens rights doing over in Iran?

You leftist peons would ally yourself with people who would have you stoned to death in the public square, and you do this for nothing other than your personal hatred of conservatives. It is insanity.
