-7a+3(a-c)+5c =

when simplify any equation, you should always keep the same variable together, here you have a and c these two variables.

lets distribute the a and c then..

-7a + 3*a - 3*c + 5c =

-7a + 3a -3c + 5c=

factor the common factor, a and c

a*(-7 + 3 ) + c* (-3 + 5) =

a* (-4) + c* (2) =

-4*a + 2*c =

-4a + 2c

Now you have all the a together and c together.

Answer: -4a + 2c

-7a + 3(a - c) + 5c

Your first step is to distribute the 3.

-7a + 3a - 3c + 5c

Now, group like terms. Group the "a" terms together, and the "c" terms together, simply by adding the number in front of them (coefficient).

-4a + 2c

ok so first you have to distribute so -7a+3a-3c+5c so after that you have to put the like terms together so a with a c with c
-4a+2c hope this helps... remember distribure multiply/divide addition last
