Don't listen to these people, they are trying to guilt you out of your right to make your own decision regarding your body and whats best for you.
Some places will let you request being p asleep for the procedure but for an additional cost.
Best of luck to you and please don't let these people make you feel bad. This is your right as a woman to make this choice.

Some places do and some places dont it really just depends on where you go so if you would rather be put to sleep while it is being done then just ring around the different clinics and ask how they go about doing the procedure and what steps are taken to perform the abortion, they will give you all the info you need.

I don't know if you're facing a "crisis pregnancy" or if you're just asking, but you should find out everything you possibly can before you make any decision. I had a crisis pregnancy, with very little family support, and no partner, I turned to a pregnancy help center, and now I have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. Feel free to contact, but here are some great sites to help inform you. If you have this procedure, expect physical pain that may last a few weeks, and emotional pain that will last the rest of your life. God loves you and every baby he creates.

Do some research. You have the right to ask questions BEFORE any elective procedure. There are risks associated with abortions that are not always told if you don't ask first.
Be informed before you choose. It's that simple. I am quite tempted to give you my personal beliefs, but hope you choose appropriately without them. Regardless, make an informed decision. Ask about risks/side effects before ANY procedure you choose to undergo.

It depends on the procedure - some require nothing, some may give a local, and some may give the patient the option of being put under.
As far as risks go - any medical procedure has them, but it's usually far less risky than actually giving birth.
As for the whack jobs - ignore them. Anti-choice people don't believe that women are humans to begin with - simply walking baby-storage tanks that are also good for cooking and cleaning.

Not always. Some places will give you something as standard practice, but some places actually charge extra to put you out. Either way, I'd urge you to think seriously and hardly about it before doing it. It's something that will be part of who you are for the rest of your life. You may move on in life, but you'll never forget about that baby who might have been.
