The liberals. They have been bringing this country down since modern liberalism became mainstream due to the hippies and counter culture movement of the 60's. Just look at liberals attempts to bring more equality about by sacrificing liberty. Higher taxation and more social programs which hurt economic growth. Liberal judges and their concept of rehabilitation over punishment for criminals. Liberals supporting drugs (just look at pop culture), counter culture, alternative lifestyles and the break down of the cornerstone of our society, the family. Liberals concepts in education, where everyone is a winner, and kids are pampered instead of encouraged to compete and deal with losing. The secularization of our schools and country, and abandoning of our traditional Christian culture that has been our identity since the beginning of America, yet the full embrace of every other religion and foreign culture. Not to mention their attempt to demonize our country and our military around the world. Just look at all the negative press our military gets in the liberal media. Never anything good coming out of Iraq or Afghanistan according to the liberal media.

The right wing has done a far better job of bringing America down than the left ever could. The left does not put "New York" boys in jail because they are foolish enough to attend college in North Carolina. The left does not throw people in Gitmo forever with no access to the Red Cross or lawyers. The left did not torture the thousands of innocents in Abu Ghraib.

No, you Nazis did that without our help. With luck, the left will conduct a revolution and restore America to the moral high ground, but don't expect to see it: if you survive the revolution, we will deposit you someplace where you can be as goose-steppy as you like with your own, and you won't be able to kill our children for the sake of Halliburton.

I would say Ultra Conservative Christians must likely to destroy the nation. Not the mainstream ones though. Many of the ultras though also think and act like true Nazis. Some even incorporate a swastica in a flag or symbol. Just think of them as home grown al-Qaeda. I don't want anyone to think I believe these people are really Christians though. They are not. And they only select portions of the Bible that fit their agenda. But they are the ones that will blow up an abortion clinic in order to save a baby. I even know of one that says the destruction of the Trade Towers was really god getting rid of the homosexuals working there. They're certifiably insane in their views.

Liberals made this country great. Liberals are the only ones trying to make it even better (Republicans call any cry for change treason and America hating).

I think the type of "conservatives" now in office have done more to bring America down than any other force I've seen. They have ruined our reputation abroad so that we longer have the moral high ground; they have taken a butcher knife to our Constitution, one of the finest documents ever written; they have started an unnecessary war which is costing us four million dollars an HOUR; because of the war, we do not have the money needed to repair the infrastructure of our country; they have created a private army of over 200,000 in our midst who do have a good infrastructure and an enormous quantity of weapons and training camps, thus bringing worries of a militia-type action at home; they have failed to secure our borders and our ports; they have instituted illegal spying on our own citizens.

It's hard for me to imagine how any other force could bring more damage than this or how much further they could take us from the America I know and love.

The Neocons are bringing America down. I say neocons because Conservatives are honorable people with good intentions. PNAC and the neocon administration is subverting the Constitution. The Constitution has held this country together for well over 200 years. Ignoring it dishonoring the oath of office leaves our country without what makes us great. People who ask divisive questions like this and sow hate and fear are also bringing America down.

How can you give a level headed response to an irrational question. Any one with a modicum of common sense knows that both Liberals and Conservatives love their country and this continued baiting of the other side is simply a waste of time when there are real issues to discuss and real problems to solve. A house divided within itself cannot stand, and that has the same meaning today as during the civil war. The downfall of america will be the partisanship that we are almost expecting nowadays. And, when a person isn't partisan, they are considered traiters. I think it is almost as bad as racism. almost.

I'm guessing that you don't know that our Constitution is one of the most liberal documents ever adopted by a government, and that for you, "Liberal" is just a label for someone who you do not agree with.
