Barry Bonds isn't on the Red Sox... he isn't even in the American League.

To further speculate on your question:

Even if he was on the Red Sox, his usual position at LF is already being played by an arguably better player in Manny Ramirez and the DH spot is being consumed by an equally worthy player in David Ortiz.

Because he's not a member of the team. Though he'll be a free agent after the season, MLB player contracts run until the end of the World Series so he isn't a free agent yet. Even if he were, MLB rules also do not allow any player who joined a team after September 1 to be placed on the post-season roster.
