I need to know about how many miles a ford contour and a ford escort will go for before like the car just kind of breaking down all the way, or how many miles until the car starts having serious problems? because I am interested in both of those cars for a first car? thanks

Ford = Found On Roadside Dumped.

I had a ford escort a few years ago,it was an old un on an h plate
and was a pig to start in the cold but it just kept on going when it
decided to go.Sold it on a few months later and its still going today.

It all depends on how well you look after your car when you get it.
I bought the escort as an in between car till i got a decent one
and never spent any money on it apart from insurance and petrol
there was enough mot left and tax till i got rid.

There is no set answer to your question. Here's why: Almost any car is capable of a couple of hundred thousand miles IF it is maintained, serviced and cared for according to manufacturer's recommendations. However, it is a very rare individual who actually follows manufacturer's suggestions, so most cars are ready for the scrap heap long before they reach two hundred thousand miles. Have a good, honest, reliable and competent mechanic check out any potential used car purchase. Good luck!
