Actually no... Oil is necessary to survival, narcotics are not... A closer analogy would be the farmers relationship to consumers.

I'd say it is analogous to "The Rich and The Famous". The only difference is that there is no Paparazzi following them - which means "Dirty Deeds" (a la AC/DC style) go unchecked and are anything but "Done Dirt Cheap".
