I was given a certain amount based on finishing an LPN course. I missed the course by 2/10th's of a point. Can I go back to court and get an increase in my alimony? What is the success rate of getting an increase?

Since the Court was instrumental in determining the amount of alimony, they may have suggestions on what to do. If you missed your LPN examination by such a small margin perhaps you can convince someone that you retake the examination. Whoever is in ccharge knows the shortage that exists and perhaps will cooperate. GOOD LUCK!!!

You will get it increased by making yourself look as hopeless, helpless and pitiful as possible. Play on the judge's emotions and cry a lot. Wear ill fitting and ragged, dirty clothes and go to court with messy hair and don't bathe for a week so you will look entirely destitute. Emotions go a long way, so really pour on the tears. Give it a try.

Most people I know are asking - how do I get my alimony at all because their ex does not pay it - I'd be happy to get anything at all if I were you. I think the success rate is nil to none because judges are too busy getting dads to pay at all much less worrying about trying to increase it. k

No. Go back to school. Alimony is for rehabilitation so you can get whatever you need so you can make your own living.
