when i turn the key the lights go dim and all the powers drained even with a jump, i just replaced the starter butt it still only turns the engine over once then stops, its a 92 grand prix

You have a direct short somewhere in the circuit...If this happened only since you replaced the starter, it's possible that the main cable going to the starter is touching the frame of the car (happened to me once)..the minute I hit the starter, everything dimmed...the battery in this case was fine...make sure you trace all the wires and connections..

look, if it rolls over just the once it is pretty clearly a power issue. Try completely replacing the battery. Sometimes jumping with cables from another car doesnt make a good power link. The sharp dimming of lights is consistent with this-they shouldn't dim much if you have a good power source.

Be sure to check all your connections, you could possibly have a bad ground somewhere. If it started after you installed the starter its a good possibility
