Turkey has invaded Iraq 24 times in the past and 24 times they've had their butts kicked back into Turkey. Perhaps they've learned from the past and are preparing accordingly.

I find the most morally bankrupt politicians to be the Democrats who voted for the war and now deny it. Talk about the ultimate in moral bankruptcy.

Go back to school and study military tactics. I would think the answer would be obvious. Also, Turkey is not interested in the Kurds or Northern Iraq, they are interested in just the PKK. Last is I will believe they attack when they actually cross the boarder with ground troops. To my knowledge this hasn't happened yet. However, on the positive side the Iraqi Parliament made a joint decision to tell the PKK to lay down their arms. This was an outstanding opportunity to bring all the parties together for a vote that did not involve the US. This is encouraging because it could be the first step to unity in their government.

Added: OK I read it, and I say again all after: Last is: I will believe they attack when they actually cross the boarder with ground troops. To my knowledge this hasn't happened yet.

Because they do not want to lose any Turkish soldiers lives in the conflict. So they plan to win swiftly and thoroughly rather than using the bare minimum supplies and troops and dragging it out for years and also increases the amount of losses.

the sad thing about your question is that i know you know better. you know they need more troops when going into foreign terr where that 3000 could be dug in God knows where. pretty obvious that you're trolling when you have to make that much of a stretch to get some pointless opinion posted on yahoo

Maybe they looked at Iraq and then at what a ;lkj up mess G Bush created in Iraq. Going to war with 150000 for an entire country, hum?..... Thinking they learned from G Bush's ;lkj up mistake.

but wait! aren't these the people we went to war to save? aren't these the people who were gassed by saddam? aren't these the folks we're liberating? isn't the iraqi president a Kurd?

maybe they plan ahead. perhaps they intend to occupy Kurdistan (there's a major oil producing area in Kurdistan).

ADD note for timber, info is outdated, there have been turkish boots on the ground in northern iraq for some time, our president has said so.

Perhaps Turkey believes higher numbers will help them defeat their enemies.

The rest of your question I find ridiculous, so I won't address it.
