Anything you want to apply you can make. Statistics are like that also. I know a man who proved statistically men have more babies than women! All he did was apply the numbers given from the governments census and applied them cunningly to prove his point.
So Murphy's law could be placed anywhere you want and if you want to....make a law of your own and apply it. Call it the law of water! " anything placed in the air will find moisture". The law of water.
Nix the 90/10 or the 80/20 why not go for 69/31 rule?
I have a 99/1 rule myself. "out of a hundred men one man will read the bible ...the other 99 will read the man".
Works for me.

How about this fact, from National Safety Council:

80% of American drivers think they drive better than 50% of all drivers.

This is, obviously an impossibility, and shows that most American drivers are in denial about their driving ability.
