Do any of you have a problem when you convert your DOC file to the PDF file? Like, your chapter numbers can be at the bottom of one page, and your actual chapter would be on the next. But when you look in your Word processor, everything looks fine?

If you found a way to fix this, please tell me!

I'm about to quit LuLu all together here pretty soon.

Of course you are having problems with Lulu - because they are a SELF PUBLISHER. As many times as serious authors come here and state DO NOT SELF PUBLISH, you people choose what you think is the easy way out and do it anyway. Self publishing will get you nowhere. It will not get your books in stores. You will not be considered a genuine published author because no publisher or agent scrutinized your work and selected it for publication.

I suggest you go to my profile and read the starred Q and A regarding publishing and writing. Then purchase a copy of Writers Market and learn how traditional publishing works. It will save you a ton of money promoting a book that will sell about 2/3 as many copies as you have family and friends if you self publish it. The average self published book sells about 100 copies. Lulu has stated their marketing strategy is that they would rather sell 100 copies of 5 million books than 5 million copies of 100 books. They are in it for the money, baby. Yours to be specific. Do not self publish.

I'm a Lulu user, never had any problem with them. ( http://www.lulu.con/dchooper in case you want to check out my book :D)
It sounds to me that your problem is your formatting. At the end of each chapter, did you insert a page break, or did you press enter for a new page? If you held in the enter button, then it will be out of place when you convert it to a pdf. If you have page breaks (CTRL-Enter in Microsoft Word, or Insert --> Break --> Page Break if you use the menu) , this should not happen. It also helps alot if the word doc you upload is already configured to the right page size and margins. If you have your document in an A4 size, and select 6*9, it will squash the pages a lot.
I would recommend either going to the lulu services page, and finding a professional formatter to take care of it for you, or you could ask in Live Help for any advice regarding the formatting.
You could also use a Lulu template for your formatting. You can find all the Lulu templates here: http://www.lulu.com/en/help/templates

Also, the help files on Lulu should help.http://www.lulu.com/en/help/editing_checklist

I hope this info helps you with your problem.
If you need any more help, you could contact me through Yahoo Answers, and I Will try to help you as best as i can.
