Many stereotypes exist concerning Cherokee Indians. Contrary to popular belief, not all Indians or Native Americans lived in teepees and rode on painted horses as they are depicted in many of the old western movies. Native Americans from different parts of what is now the United States lived in many different tribes.

We didn't 'live' in many different tribes. There are over 500+ tribes with different languages, culture, ways of living, etc. Only the Plains Indians have come to represent all Indians, at least to the general public. Thanks to Hollywood, the stereotypical Indian lived in teepees, rode painted ponies and war bonnets. Actually, you can thank the Old West road shows like the Wild Bill Hickock show which depicted the Plains Indians.

Hope this helps some, but at least your opening thesis statement is on the right track...

And the question is ??? Anything that a 'white' person says in regards to Native Americans is likely to be labled a 'stereotypical' remark. It is sad to think what might have been if the Puritans read more of Christ's message of Love & Compassion rather than the Old Testement tales of Israelites smiting their enemies and conquering Palestine. If the Puritans had treated Natives fairly and had worked with them, teaching them to not only use iron weapons & tools but how to make them, etc...

But as to your question I am baffled as to what it is..
