i have installed a new windows version and i can't redcored any thing by the mic. when i try to test the hard ware device it give me that masseage error code num 0*80004005 and it tell me to install dpvsetup.exe what shall i do

You need new drivers for your sound card.
Let me guess... Vista?

I agree with the above poster. Did you install the drivers for your audio card once you installed your os?

When windows vista come out this year all drivers did not support vista.
You need to goto the motherboard/sound card website and get the vista update for it .
It will take no time to do most updates are only 20-40MB in size.
