When I was pregnant at 16 & had my son at 17....all of my friends who said they would be there for me turned on me & called me names & left nasty notes in my locker & writing things on the bathroom walls just cruel things they did......I had one friend stay by me & she has been beside me for the past 15 yrs.....since then a couple of them have apologized & I forgave but it is so hard to forget the emotional scars of words last a lifetime.

Some of the people that have answered this question already, really need to think about what the word "cruel" truly means. A guy calling you a name or breaking up with you is not cruel.

Max - that is just about the saddest thing i've ever heard. i've got a cat and it would just about kill me if anything ever happened to her. she's the sweetest thing in my world and i'm so sorry that happened to you...
i got picked on in high school... A LOT! i know a lot of kids do, but that doesn't make it right or hurt any less. i spent pretty much all 4 of those years truly wanting to kill myself. i'm just glad i didn't...

Honestly nothing comes to mind!
But the thing in my life which hurts me the most was when i did something which i knew was wrong and my mum yelled at me for hours, swearing, abusing me, calling me names, it hurt so bad because she was the person who couldn't judge me for what i had done, after all that she has been through in her life i thought she would atleast understand.

Somebody killed my cat.
It was Halloween when I was sixteen yrs old, and I was outside with my cat handing out candy. My cat was all dressed up, it was really cute. Some kids around my age must have been drunk or something, but they took my cat even after I yelled at them and...well, they drowned her.
Its disgusting to think about this, and I can't believe they actually did it.

I've had a group of girls verbally harass me before, and it almost got to the point where they physically hurt me. I can't go into it all, but they were very cruel towards me. I had to live with them in the same apartment dorm in college, and it makes me sick knowing college aged girls would act like children like they did.

When a neighbor held a .45 to my neck accusing me of having an affair with his wife. She was a bow wow and I had never even thought about it.

I was only in third grade at the time( for speaking up)

well this really popular guy at my school (he fits every stereotype of what a popular guy is) a real jerk too
we were playing with this big i mean HUMONGOUS ball it was the biggest bouncy ball i've ever seen in my entire life!!
we were forced to play crab soccer (walk like a crab play soccer ya know)
i was goalie!!! i hated being goalie! how could you possibly block that biig thing! anyways things were going fine until he comes up and kicks the giant thing in my face to give the guys one point .. okay i was like dizzy for a second (rules: score a point start over in the middle) he keeps on kicking me in the face. over and over and over. there's much space on the other side . it's wide open .. but he doesn't score there. i finally had it .. and i start crying my eyes out. then he sees me straight in the eye with his other popular friends. and he starts laughiing like crazy.. his friends are like "OH!! oooh~ hahah" i felt really crummy and these girls are like "your eye!!" and i'm like what what? and i go to the nurses office and find out my blood vessel popped in my eye. he didn't even say "i'm sorry".. i sat next to him in 2 classes for 2 years.. and didn't know my name. the least he could do was say i'm sorry.. till this day i don't like him
i forgave him secretly in my mind cuz u need to .. but i still don't like him at all.
